This weekend, I did exactly what I wanted to. Nothing else. It was…unusual for me. And very freeing. Normally, I have a lot of things I “have” to do, and other things I just want to do. But this weekend, I skipped all of the have to do things, and just did…nothing, really.
I didn’t even work out. I should have, since my inner runner is never going to make it to the outside without some effort, but I just didn’t feel like it. I focused on the happy part of my true self instead. But I promise I’ll get to work on the rest of me this week. Starting tomorrow. Honestly…But this weekend I just chilled. Read. Watched TV. Ordered in sushi. Tried to sleep. Nothing too demanding.
I did go see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Friday night. Can I just say “wow”? The movie is visually stunning, which is no less than I expected from Peter Jackson. I love how he tied everything into the Lord of the Rings movies. Super Mom and I saw it together, since we saw all of the LOTR movies together, and both of us had the same reaction: since when did dwarves become hot? Seriously.
Here we have Thorin.
And Fili.
I mean, really? Hot, right? Out of all the fantasy creatures I’ve ever read about, I’m pretty sure sexy dwarves never crossed my mind. But now they have. And they will forever be deemed a viable possibility in my mind. They really know how to use a…sword, if you know what I mean. Look out, Legolas… Ahem. Where was I? Oh, yes. The movie…
I thought the cameos from LOTR characters were fantastic. So it didn’t follow all of the book in rigid detail. Granted, it’s been years since I’ve read it, but I do remember that much. However, I thought it was beautifully done, and enchanting enough that I’ll probably see it at least once more time. And I swear it has nothing to do with the hot dwarves. Probably.
