I discovered Bullet Journals a few months ago, completely by accident, and was almost dumbstruck by the concept. (Seriously. Where has this been my whole life?) I am a compulsive list-maker, and I love planners and planning, but I’ve never been able to find a planner that works for all of the craziness that is my life.

Until now.

And the concept is ridiculously simple, since you basically make up what you want to put in your planner. (A real duh moment for me, let me tell you.)  And you can change it any time you get tired of it, alter it to suit your own needs, and decorate it however you please.  I get sucked right into the BuJo pins on Pinterest, and lose hours.

The original BuJo site with the official concept/rules/layout is here.

Personally, I don’t really follow that. It did not appeal to me that much, and there are so many other options out there. Kara at Boho Berry has some fantastic ideas, suggestions, and pics. So does Shelby at Little Coffee Fox. And there are approximately 100,000 pins on Pinterest about it. (I collect ones I like on my Dear Diary board.)

Currently, I use washi tape on the edges of my pages, to keep them neater.

Some of this is written in code that would not make sense to a single other sole on the planet. Some of it is little tasks that need to be done, but that I get distracted and forget about. Like checking the mail…and watering the plants.

I do have handwriting envy from all of my perusing of gorgeous BuJo pictures. However…you know, I had a stroke 3 years ago. It affected my right side. I am right-handed. Right after I woke up, I could barely write at all. (Seriously, “chicken scratch” would have been a step up.) I try to keep that in mind when I get aggravated with myself over messiness or mistakes. Could be worse, self. At least you CAN write.

I now also have a great stamp I found on Etsy that makes my little tracker so much easier and neater.

Despite the work I put into my BuJo–or perhaps because of it–I have a much easier time keeping my life organized and getting everything done I need to do.

But I’m always looking for BuJo tips and tricks, if anyone has any.
