speeding up

Made it to the gym around noon today. Since the 5k is on Saturday, I decided to just do short interval workouts today and Thursday. My intervals today were at 5.7 mph, which is the fastest I’ve ever run.

I did 9 x 1 minute at 5.7 mph, then did the last interval for 2 minutes instead of 1. Walking intervals were 1 minute at 3.2mph, plus a 5-minute warm-up and cool- down.

At that pace, over half of that 1.98 miles was running, so I’m happy with that. The Map My Run app claims I burned 505 calories, but I’m positive that’s not accurate. I wish there was a “Treadmill Walk and Run” option on there.

Also did a brief strength workout at home. Depending on my body’s reaction to that, I’ll tell you what it is if I continue doing it.

Onward and upward!
