It’s been a while since I updated things here. There’s been a lot going on.
I didn’t make it to the gym on Tuesday because I had so much homework to do, and that was the only day I had to do it. But I did hit the road for a 6 mile run on Thanksgiving morning! That’s my longest run to date!
We took a few super short walking breaks, but we ran just about all of it. I’ve been having a bit of pain in the hip joint of my right leg, and Friday at work, I turned around and got a sharp, shooting pain there. It bothered me (less intensely) the rest of the day and that night, so no run yesterday. Today, we had an easy 3 miles, so we did a yoga for runners sequence to start with, plus extra stretching before and after. It was really cloudy and almost drizzling, and only 2 out of 3 of my apps lined up:
Borrowing my BFF’s Garmin because I’m thinking of getting one. I love being able to see my pace so easily! Which means I played around with short speed bursts (the fastest was about 8 minutes, which I can only do for about 20 seconds). 3 miles, 39:32 minutes, 13:11 pace.
My Asics app: 3.05 miles, 40:30 minutes, 13:17 pace (Can’t stop/start everything all at once, lol.)
And the Map My Run app: 3.6 miles, 37:53 minutes, 10:39 pace. While I’d like to believe the whole pace was this high, I know it wasn’t. I’m gonna go with the other two.
