week in review: mohawks and mayhem

Week-In-Review-Button-Final

Linking up with Meghan at Clean Eats, Fast Feets as usual.

This week was weird. There’s no other way to say it.

Monday at work there was a staffing change at the boss’s other clinic, which means The Diva will be working over there for the foreseeable future, and I will now be doing the administrative work at that clinic and my own, as well as doing direct patient care at my clinic. I’m looking forward to the task, but the next few months will probably be crazy as I catch up on what I suspect has been left undone at the other clinic.

It was spring break for me, so I didn’t technically have homework, although I usually try to work ahead a bit (Yes, I’m that kind of nerd. I work full-time. I can use all the time for school work I can get.) That didn’t really happen. I did do the reading, and I read the syllabus. Which triggered my absolute terror of my first journalism class. (In hindsight, it should have been obvious that a journalism program might require me to be on camera at some point. I don’t even take selfies. This is not something I’m comfortable with.)

Tuesday, something great happened:  Forrest arrived!

Yes, I named my treadmill Forrest. I figure I’m less likely to cancel an appointment with an actual name…and I did work out three days this week, just doing the short half-mile runs my new training plan currently calls for. Starting over kinda stinks.

My darling nephew got a mohawk. :/

He’s cute of course. Just not sure I would have let a four-year-old make this stylistic choice. Not my kid, though. Not my business. (As long as he’s safe.)

Enjoyed my updated plant window.

Read about four books, two of them over the weekend.

And posted this recipe for a simple, low-processed-carb veg-all casserole.

  1. I think Forrest is a lovely name (as in Run, Forrest run yes?) and I hope you two have a long lasting and rewarding relationship.

Your nephew is adorable rocking that mohawk.

Boo for the extra work but hooray for all the book reading.

I’m digging the new plant window.
