Six months ago, I ran six miles like it wasn’t a big deal. (Not like super fast or anything, but I ran it without stopping or passing out.) Then I was injured for 3 months. Then I started trying to run again, and life and laziness kept getting in the way.
So, here I am again, six months later, and about 10 pounds heavier. Sigh….(The weight was definitely laziness and lack of impulse control. And maybe some donuts.)
But I’ve been trying to get it all together again lately, including starting a new training plan for the Route 66 Half marathon in November. It’s a struggle, but I know I can do it. I did it just last year, and I’ll do it again. Just…smarter, and hopefully injury-free this time.
More stretching.
Today, I ran a mile at an “easy” 15-minute pace. I know that’s super slow, especially after reading about the Breaking 2 attempt last week (Just Wow!), but it’s progress, and that’s all I’m looking for right now. I also did my strength training and stretching today.
