Linking up with Meghan over at Clean Eats, Fast Feets for the shenanigans.
Hallelujah, the summer semester is over, so I get a break! It’s not an official grade yet, but I pulled an A in my class. It’s amazing what a difference a competent professor can make…
I worked 3.5 days on the day job, and my boss got a few more AA hours approved because I felt like I was floundering trying to handle the 13 pending patients my clinics had at the beginning of the week. (We’ve admitted 4 of those so far, with two more scheduled for Monday for sure.).
I got in three runs, plus four strength training sessions for the week (and I blogged about it).
I cleaned my entire kitchen, and went through every single cabinet, tossing some stuff and rearranging everything else. I also rearranged the computer desk and moved my desk and a book shelf. Feeling super productive now!
I read four books, including two on Saturday: Dream Me, The Nearest Far Away Place, The Mourning Parade, and Ship Breaker (All of them were fantastic reads, but The Mourning Parade was really great! Reviews will be up soon on the first three.) I started—and stopped—reading Being Dead is Bad for Business and Betrothed. And I reviewed Girl on the Verge (which was also a great read) and blogged about the 16 books I read in June.
My coworker had her baby, so Saturday my CC and I went to meet Riggin Wade (Um, his parents are calf-ropers…hence the name):
They induced her, and it only took 10 hours, plus she said she didn’t have any pain before her epidural. The baby was 8 lbs 1 oz, and 19 inches long. He’s such a cutie! While I was holding him, he was steadily looking around at everything. #istilldontwantone
After leaving the happy family at the hospital, my CC and I hit up Justice Burger. We had Boba Fetta fries (all the points for the name, plus the feta cheese sauce was the bomb), and I got this:
Yes, that’s jalapeño mac-n-cheese on the burger. It was every bit as good as it looks, although I only ate half of it.
I think that’s about it for this week.
Sounds like a productive week. Those always feel nice. Yay for a well deserved break! Babies are so sweet. I love watching their subtle expressions.
Very productive! The baby is totally adorable. Thanks for reading!
Congratulations to your coworker on birthing a tiny human and kudos to you for the kitchen overhaul. Doesn’t it feel good.
Adding more books to my list. I’m reading A Year Of Living Danishly right now and really enjoying it although it’s early days yet.
Hmm. That book sounds intriguing.
Mac and cheese on a burger is genius! And I’m jealous of your kitchen cleaning. I desperately need to do that, but I think the real problem is I need more cabinet space, which means I need a bigger house, lol.
The burger was awesome! My kitchen is tiny, with minimal cabinets, so basically just threw stuff out that had accumulated. Thanks for reading!
