week in review: glimmers of light

Linking up with Meghan at Clean Eats, Fast Feets for the Week in Review.

Week-In-Review-Button-Final

In all honesty, there’s not much to last week except work.

Monday:  I worked my usual 13 hours, 4:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. (5:30 being my personal Go Home! goal that does not always happen).

Tuesday:  we had our monthly meeting with the doctor at 8 a.m., so I picked up breakfast for everyone, got coffee pods because I realized we were out, and made it to the clinic by 7:35 so  I could get everything assembled and grab what was needed before the meeting started. After the meeting, I worked on a few things, and my boss got a call that her mom was very sick, so I morally supported her while she got her flight lined up and tried to decide what she needed to do. About 5 hours of work this day.

Wednesday:  another 13 hour day.

Thursday:  I had to be at the clinic because our PD nurse was training a patient, so I worked from 9:45 to about 2:45. Really wanted a nap, but that didn’t happen.

Friday:  another 13-hour day, after which I may have walked in my door, grabbed a bottle of tequila, and took a swig straight out of the bottle. Allegedly. Sadly, the boss’s mom passed this day.

Saturday/Sunday:  combated exhaustion, napped, did laundry and meal prep, and read a bit.

This week, I reviewed Dead Man’s Chest and All The Wrong Chords. I also read Where I End, Mesmerized, and Wedding Bells, Magic Spells, as well as finishing Believe and Life and Other Near Death Experiences.

I got my grades for the semester, and I managed a 4.0, which I am very thrilled with. I’m terrorized about next semester’s classes, though. True story.

I saw The Last Jedi at the Omni Imax theater with the Saint, and I am both traumatized and overwhelmed by the movie. Also, the creatures were pretty awesome, as was Luke’s snark.

I was also a tiny bit crafty and did this:

Currently, I’m exhausted and think I’ll go take another nap, using this as my nightlight…

  1. I’d say you’re entitled to all the naps. What a hell of a week, especially on the work front. That’s awful about your boss’s mom.

I want to see The Last Jedi, so I’m excited you managed to watch it what with everything else going on. Also, congrats on the 4.0. You are super impressive.

  2. So pretty!! I love those super simple crafts that just make a world of difference.

Congrats on the 4.0! Also, how do you read so quickly? Gosh I wish I had some of that skill/dedication.

I really hope this week is a nice one for you. And if I don’t get to say it later, Merry Christmas to you!

  3. Thanks! Simple is the only thing I have time for. I’ve always read super quickly. Most people read one word at a time, but quick readers tend to take in entire sentences at a time. Also, I barely watch TV, so that gives me a chunk of extra time. Merry Christmas to you, too!
