If I’m going to tell you all the gory details about finding myself, I should probably give you a bit of personal info to help it all make sense (or as much sense as it can make). I’m 39. I got married when I was 20 and I’ve now been happily divorced for well over years. I work full-time in the healthcare field, and I go to school full-time for environmental biology. Yes, I want to save the world. No, I don’t think that’s impossible. (Actually, now I’m an English major on the professional writing track. Get my BA in December 2016, start grad school in Journalism January 2017).  I write fiction in my “free” time (fantasy, actually), and would love to be published someday.

Some days, I live on caffeine and sugar. I love to read. I have two cats. My favorite color is green. I love shoes. I love going to the movies. I’m sarcastic, snarky, and a little bit crazy. I have 6 tattoos and 10 piercings (now 7 tattoos and 9 piercings) (mostly in my ears). I couldn’t care less what people think about me. I believe in God, but not in organized religion (still not a big fan of most organized religion, but now I attend a fantastic non-denominational church). My dad is a chaplain, and he and my mom have been married for over 40 years. I have two younger brothers. I have the most awesome group of friends on the planet. I’m open-minded and the most liberal person in my family. Narrow-minded people piss me off. So do judgmental people. As does needless cruelty, stupidity, and the color pink.

I guess I should also say that I had a major stroke on 6/1/16. If you want to read about it, you can do that here and here. I’m pretty much over the depression that made me start this blog as therapy, though it rears its head every now and then. I just started running again July 7th, 2016, and trying to lose weight (down almost 20 pounds so far!). So. Running. School. Work. Writing. Church. That’s about it for me.
